Based on the (at the time unpublished) Manga and the (in early production) first anime series, game designer Paul Gardner, producers David Robinson and Eric Calderon successfully pitched our approach to adapting the Afro concept into a game directly to Gonzo anime studio execs in Tokyo.
At the time there were only a handful of pages from the manga and very early conceptual sketches from director Kizaki available.
The material seen here is a small sample of the work produced as art director and concept artist with the support of outsourcing studios Igloo (Malaysia) and Tose (China) and concept artist Stuart Jennettnd character artists Bryan and during the very early stages of development of the first playable demo and the announcement trailer that made its debut at NAMCO Bandai’s Editors’ Day presentation in San Francisco 2007.
